So who am I and why should you care?
As far as the caring goes, well that’s up to you really! I’m a Yorkshire lass born and bred and this blog is intended as a record of my sewing, as much for my own purposes as anything else. I started sewing a lot about 4 years ago now and it has become a large part of my life and more importantly, a vital way of keeping my mental health on track. I have so much to learn it’s untrue, but I’m thoroughly enjoying the experience!
I blog fairly regularly but am addicted to Instagram, so feel free to head over there and say hi. There’s usually a lot of sewing related content on there, together with my random observations on life, and most of it’s tagged #sewingkeepsmesane (with good reason).
I’m lucky enough to be part of the Minerva Crafts Blogger Network, which means I get to make a new project using their vast range of supplies each month and blog about it here and on their website. You can find all of my posts on there by filtering by blogger.
I’m also one of the co-organisers of sewing social event, Sew Up North, a Leeds based meet up for those obsessed with fabic which has so far raised just short of £1,000 for charity.
Sewing aside, I’m a good, old fashioned geek! I build mathematical models for a bank for a living (yes, feel free to yawn, but I love it!) and outside of work I’m a wife and mummy to two little girls. I started this blog the week that my eldest girl started primary school; now she’s coming up to Key Stage 1 SATs and her little sister is at school too; time flies and all that.
My other loves are music and reading so all in all, there’s a lot going on generally and life is hectic. But hey, it’s better than being bored, right?
Feel free to comment, one of the things I’m enjoying most about sewing is the online community. And hey, who doesn’t like a chat?

Oh my goodness, that is so nice of you! Thank you, I’m truly flattered! I wasn’t really sure anyone was reading at all, so that is just wonderful!

That’s OK, you deserve it. I felt the same too when I was nominated, it’s nice to think other people are enjoying it too. I’m still a bit hesitant with dressmaking so your progress in such a short space of time really impresses me xx
